As
you know for the betterment of the community your Board of Directors has worked
very diligently to establish rules and regulations that will benefit and
protect all residents in the best interest of Doral Landings.
The
security guards are carefully trained to follow very specific protocol
established by the rules and regulations.
Earlier
this month the Board became aware of certain incidents whereby residents
behaved in a very abusive manner toward the security personnel who were
following established guidelines. Security
cameras recorded the incidents at the front gate which included audio and
visual of the residents harassing, yelling and behaving in a very rude manner
toward security personnel. The Board of
Directors carefully reviewed the recordings and were shocked and surprised at
the level of mistreatment involved. In one case the homeowner is trying to
intimidate the guard with his friendship with the owner of the security company
and in the second, the owner is having these difficulties because her decal has
been deactivated due to a long overdue account with the association. At all
times they are treated with courtesy and politeness from the guard. Letters were sent to the residents involved.
The
residents from both houses attended the Board meeting on May 24, demanding that
one of the guards be fired, and threatening to recall the Board if the Board
refused to have the guard fired. We feel
strongly that the behavior of these residents was inappropriate and
unacceptable, and not in the best interest of your community.
